Access to Clean Water: A Life-Saving Step
The İSAR Association has implemented an exemplary project in Madagascar addressing one of the most significant problems in Africa: access to clean water. Thousands of people living in rural areas of the country had to walk kilometers every day to access clean water. This situation posed a great burden, especially for women and children. To solve this problem, the İSAR Association drilled hundreds of water wells in different regions of Madagascar. Thanks to this project, people living in the region can now easily access clean and reliable water.
The Impact of Water Wells on the Region
The drilling of water wells has positively impacted the lives of people living in the region in many ways. First of all, access to clean water has prevented waterborne diseases. In addition, the time and energy previously spent on women and children have been redirected to education and other productive activities. The President of the İSAR Association stated, “In Madagascar, access to clean water is vital for people to live healthy lives. With this project, we not only met the water needs but also contributed to the prevention of epidemic diseases in the region.”
Future Projects and Goals
Following the success of its water well project in Madagascar, the İSAR Association plans to implement similar projects in other African countries. Association officials aim to drill more water wells in the coming period, especially in regions with severe water scarcity. In addition, training for the local population on the maintenance and sustainability of water wells is also planned.
